Research units
The University’s internal institutes and Key Laboratories
The focus area Polymer & Colloid Science comprises three of the University’s central scientific units: The Bayreuth Institute for Macromolecular Research (BIMF), the Bayreuth Centre for Colloids & Interfaces (BZKG), and the Research Centre for Bio-Macromolecules (bio-mac).
Each of these units has its own building, which also enables flexible use of facilities and interfaces for interdisciplinary cooperation. The majority of the analytical equipment is kept in so-called key labs. In addition, New Materials Bayreuth GmbH complements these facilities by providing optimal solutions for technology transfer.
